Our PEFC UK Annual Stakeholder Meeting will be held:
10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Wednesday 26th April 2023
The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT
Join PEFC UK for its first in-person Stakeholder Meeting since 2019 at the Building Centre, London on 26 April. This year’s event will explore what companies can do to work towards a circular, low carbon society and meet challenging global net zero targets.
With a keynote address from Lord Deben, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, focusing on the UK’s climate goals and how both business and government can deliver and implement them, the one-day event will be of interest to everyone manufacturing or trading in wood-based products, including retailers, brand owners, built environment professionals, foresters – or anyone with a role to play in using natural products to drive circularity and boost levels of sustainability.
Market sectors as diverse as construction, food-to-go, retail and FMCG manufacturers are already adopting circular habits and switching to renewable, recyclable and responsibly sourced materials. But what other positive steps are industry-leading companies taking and what can you do?
Our programme will feature expert speakers from all sectors of the wood products supply chain – from forest to final consumer and attendees will be able to hear how key sectors are taking climate action and making the transition to a healthier circular economy.
Please find the agenda here. We have a fantastic line-up of speakers including Stewart Begg, Director Sustainable Fibres and Public Affairs at Essity, who will assess progress on delivery of the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Forest Positive Coalition’s Pulp, Paper and Fibre-based Packaging (PPP) Roadmap and Dr Paul Collins, who will be reporting on how Huhtamaki – one of the world’s leading sustainable packaging solutions providers – are taking climate action and transitioning towards a circular economy. Julia Kozlik, who heads up PEFC’s global textile programme, will show how sustainably managed forests, and the shift towards responsibly sourced and certified forest-derived products, are playing a key role in helping fashion brands and retailers meet their climate change commitments.
The event is free to attend but numbers are strictly limited. Early registration is highly recommended as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Please RSVP by close of business on Friday 14 April 2023 to Tracey Reeve
