An expert webinar on building with timber will show why using wood is so important to our health and wellbeing and in creating inspirational structures.
The Tomorrow’s Timber Talk CPD will be presented by Dr Pablo van der Lugt, senior sustainability consultant for the wood and bamboo industry and lecturer in Biobased Building at Delft University of Technology (Environmental Technology and Design). The webinar will clearly explain why wood is the premier renewable building material and a reliable and sustainable alternative to concrete, steel and concrete.
Dr Pablo van der Lugt is also the co-author of Tomorrow’s Timber which highlights how timber has evolved from a traditional building material to a contemporary, precision engineered and high performance construction option.
As wood requires less energy in production and stores carbon, it is vital in reducing climate change and achieving net zero carbon emissions targets. Dr van der Lugt will explain why more architects and building designers are turning to this natural material. He will also bust some myths surrounding timber durability, performance and forest supply.
