PEFC UK has been hosting an Annual Field Trip since 2014. These trips have always proved very popular and have attracted a wide range of stakeholders including those from financial services, packaging, retail, construction and timber merchants. They are designed to help our stakeholders learn more about how legal and sustainable forest products are sourced and what lies behind PEFC’s rigorous sustainable forest management and Chain of Custody certification standards.
This year we are running a one-day event confined to those working in the construction and house building sector and it will be held in the south east.
The event will take place on Thursday 17th May 2018 and will include a visit to the PEFC-certified Crown Estate forest and biomass plant in Windsor Great Park and to certified timber merchant, Beaumont Forest Products sawmill, at their depot in Ascot.
Participants will be able to learn more about the importance of timber certification and what they can do to support responsible producers, and ultimately the world’s woodlands and forests, through their procurement choices. The content will be most relevant to those working in CSR and sustainability roles, in addition to those with timber procurement responsibilities.
This event is free to attend but places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so early registration is recommended. Places are initially restricted to one per company although we will try to offer additional places if we still have availability after the closing date for initial responses.
